The world of opera is currently facing one of its gravest challenges ever due to the paralyzing effect of the global COVID-19 crisis on the performing arts. The crisis is changing our profession and the world of opera as we know it. We, as opera managers, have come together to found a new international organization to address these challenges and find a unified voice in the shaping of the future of opera.
We are pleased to announce the opening of OPERA MANAGERS ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL e. V. (OMAI). The association is being founded in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
OMAI is building a coalition of opera managers with clear goals to share information, collaborate, and advocate on behalf of its membership worldwide.
OMAI is collaborating with partners in the industry – producers, arts organizations, artists and others – to build trust, strong working relationships, and new coalitions. We welcome partnerships with others in the industry who will work with us towards our goals.
OMAI is officially open to membership as of October 1, 2020.
We are proud to be founding the first association of artist managers that specializes in opera worldwide. We welcome opera managers from around the world to join us in this new and exciting endeavor.
